Course Description:
CISCO NETWORKING ACADEMY - IT ESSENTIALS 1
This course is designed to prepare the student for entry-level employment as a IT (PC) Technician. Course content will include but is not limited to assembly, upgrading, operating systems, and troubleshooting personal computers (PC’s) and associated peripheral equipment. Also included is customer service and documentation.
Credit: 1 unit
Note: This course counts for the computer science requirement for graduation.
CISCO NETWORKING ACADEMY - IT ESSENTIALS 2
This independent-study course is designed to prepare the student for CompTIA A+ Certification, an international industry standard for entry-level IT professionals. The CompTIA A+ exam consists of two tests: A+ Essentials and A+ IT Technician (220-602). Each exam costs $78.00 (normal cost is $158.00). Students who obtain CompTIA A+ certification (two exams) can receive college credits from Midlands Technical College.
